Yesterday we fueled up, watered up and pumped out at the small private marina near our anchorage on Maule Lake north of Miami. The day was crap, blustery, wet and coolish lower 60's. Then motored on down the waterway to Miami. Not one of our favorites, very busy, noisy and the amount of money people have invested in homes and boats here is unfathomable. Once south of Miami, things improved although it remained blustery. We are learning the weather patterns here. Every few days a cold front comes through, the wind kicks up from the north and northeast for a day or two. Seems to follow the Ely cold snaps by 5 days or so. We anchored mid afternoon in southern Biscayne Bay near Elliot Key and the Biscayne National Park. Things have changed. The water now is absolutely clear. Finished the day watching our hockey team play very poorly. This morning the wind has laid down and we will attempt to go through Angelfish Creek to the ocean to head on down the keys. Looks like a shallow inlet, but should be doable and will be on rising tide.
