Today we are in Key Largo. We left a really nice anchorage at Eliott Key, out to the Atlantic side via Angelfish Creek, which had been recommended by Ted. Plans have evolved a bit and I think we are going to Baja down to Key West, then work our way north slowly, do final provisioning for the Bahamas at Marathon, then hole up at Angelfish Creek mentioned above until a weather window allows us to cross to Bimini. We are anchored behind Rodriguez Island, well protected. I dove beneath the boat yesterday and scrubbed the tranducer that was glitchy, thinking maybe maine growth was the issue, but I think it is just failing. There is a paddle wheel on it for giving boat water speed and it will be interesting to see if that works now. The chartplotter electonics give us good speed over ground with GPS, but it would be interesting to see the in water speed and how it varies due to the currents. We are in warm water and pretty moderate temps now. Last night was 72 with days forecast to be 78-80 for the next several days, a big change from a couple of weeks ago.
