Past several days we have had almost no internet. So no posts. Currently it remains pretty marginal but I was able to upload some pictures. We left Highbourne Cay on Friday and new the weather was going to deteriorate. Picked up a mooring ball about 25 miles south on Warderick Wells Cay, part of the Bahamas Land and Sea Park. It is a protected area, no fishing or lobstering. They charge $0.50 per foot to anchor within the park which is about 15 miles by 4 miles square, so we picked up a mooring ball for 3 nights at $20/night. This gave us access to the Park for hiking as well. The trails are pretty rugged. The pictures don't do it justice. Walking on the coral rubble really taxes your subtalar joints. But it was good exercise and we essentially circumnavigated the island over the 2 days we were there. All the other boats in the area sat tight as well, which told me something. We got in some good snorkeling as well, Saw lobster and a big nurse shark cruised by the boat a few times. I didn't mention, but at the anchorage a couple of days ago, we snorkeled and Cindy picked up a really pretty shell, stuck it in her swim suit. The next morning we watched it crawl across the back deck, a hermit crab within. She's glad he didn't come out during his triop to the boat. She also had a remora molest her trying to get onto the boat after diving. While at the Park Anchorage, we were at the office trying to buy some internet access when a sailboat in the wind, broke loose of it';s mooring ball. They calmly asked if I would assist and so I took a couple of really large Bahamian guys out to the sailboat and got it squared away. Tonight we are off Guana Cay a mile south of White Point. The wind has died down and we have a quiet spot. Only issue is we went looking for fish or lobster and came up empty this time so it was bratburgers for supper. All is well. Will work our way to Georgetown over the next coujple of days, going to look at a cave tomorrow and try and catch a fish or two.

This is what the "trails" around the island looked like. Make Bass Lake look like good footing. This limestone/coral was really treacherous |
